Empowerment through Mobility, Education and Training (EMET)

The EMET program is a cornerstone of HTBF’s mission to empower visually impaired college students through structured training, digital access, and career readiness.

Key Achievements (2024–2025)

  • Delivered 410 hours of training for the 2023–2025 batch, with 219 students earning Digital Score Cards and Certificates.
  • Launched the 2024–2026 batch in August 2024, delivering 500 hours of training, distributing 300 laptops, and enabling 287 students to successfully complete annual assessments.
  • Inaugurated the 2025–2027 batch with 216 new enrollments, expanding program reach across India.

Technology & Accessibility

  • Distributed 300 laptops, 100 Aura Vision Glasses, and 210 Smart Vision Glasses, ensuring inclusive digital learning.
  • Introduced a structured four-level curriculum, offline assessments in 14 cities, and a Training of Trainers (ToT) program to enhance delivery quality.

Student Development & Exposure

  • Organized guest lectures, Student Development Forum activities, and industry visits to organizations like ISRO, Airbnb, and Coca-Cola.
  • Established Empowerment and Skill Development Resource Centers in Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Nashik, and Thanjavur as hubs for assistive technology and skill-building.

Innovations

  • Launched the Aptitude & Attitude Competency Gauge and a Bridge Course to address learning gaps.
  • Rolled out the Capability Enhancement Program in Chennai and Nagpur, offering industry-supported training for employment readiness.

Together, these initiatives have created a holistic learning ecosystem combining academic instruction, digital empowerment, experiential learning, and career preparation—strengthening EMET’s nationwide impact.
