Empowerment through Mobility, Education and Training (EMET)

The EMET program achieved notable progress during 2024–2025 in empowering visually impaired students through structured training, digital access, and skill development. For the 2023–2025 batch, 410 hours of training were completed, with 219 students successfully passing assessments and receiving Digital Score Cards and Certificates. The 2024–2026 batch, launched in August 2024, received 500 hours of training; 300 laptops were distributed, and 287 students successfully completed their annual assessments. The 2025–2027 batch was also inaugurated with 216 new enrollments, further expanding the program’s reach.

To strengthen digital empowerment, 300 laptops, 100 Aura Vision Glasses, and 210 Smart Vision Glasses were distributed, ensuring accessibility and independent learning. Quality of delivery was enhanced through a Training of Trainers program, offline assessments in 14 cities, and the introduction of a structured four-level curriculum. Guest lectures, Student Development Forum activities, and industry visits to ISRO, Airbnb, Coca-Cola, and other organizations enriched students’ exposure and confidence.

In addition, Empowerment and Skill Development Resource Centers were set up in Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Nashik and Thanjavur, serving as dedicated hubs for learning, assistive technologies, and skill-building. The launch of an Aptitude and Attitude Competency Gauge and a Bridge Course helped tailor training to students’ readiness and reduce learning gaps. The Capability Enhancement Program in Chennai and Nagpur further prepared students for employment through industry-supported training.

Together, these initiatives created a holistic, inclusive learning ecosystem that combined academic instruction with digital access, experiential learning, and career readiness, strengthening the impact of the EMET program nationwide.
