OUR POLICIES AND GUIDELINES FOR 2021-22

Our sponsorship for students staying in College Managed Hostel will be Rs. 25,000 or actuals, whichever is lower and will be paid direct to the College. Contribution from the student is not prerequisite.

For students staying in private hostels and Day Scholars, the sponsorship amount will be according to the recommendation of the relevant volunteer subject to a maximum of Rs.10,000 and will be paid through college OR will be directly credited to the bank accounts of students. The mode of payment to be decided in consultation with volunteers/Colleges/Trustees.

We have to get the details of the bank account of colleges and email IDs of contact persons in the college.

The following criteria does not affect our award of HTBF sponsorship:

  1. The percentage of visual impairment subject to a minimum of 40%.
  2. Age as well as any break in studies.
  3. The amount of sponsorship received from others.

We collect this information for our data purposes only.

Criteria For Award Of Sponsorship:

  1. We will award the sponsorship to the fresh applicants studying in year 1 of UG only if they have scored 50% or more in their higher secondary exam (Twelfth Exam).
  2. For PG course and professional courses like B.Ed., we will award the sponsorship if the student has scored 60% overall in UG and he /she is serious about completing higher education and not using the PG course as stop gap arrangement till they get a job.
  3. Continuation applicants who have arrears will be awarded sponsorship only if they have scored a minimum of 45% overall in the remaining subjects in year 1 and 50% overall in the remaining subjects in year 2 of UG. Similarly, PG students with arrears will be awarded sponsorship only if they have scored a minimum of 50% overall in the remaining subjects in year 1 of PG. Number of arrears does not matter. However considering the prevailing Covid situation this criteria has been waived and all continuation students are eligible for receiving the sponsorship provided they have been promoted to the next year.
  4. To enable the foundation to keep track of the progress of the final year students of both UG and PG, an amount equivalent to 20% of the sponsorship amount awarded for that year would be withheld and then be released on the submission of the final semester mark sheets. However considering the prevailing Covid situation this year no retention will be made and the full amount of sponsorship approved will be paid in a single instalment.
  5. We will award sponsorship to fresh applicants studying in year 2 and year 3 of Under graduation and year 2 of Post graduation provided they have no arrears at the time of applying for the sponsorship.
  6. We will not award any sponsorship to the applicants studying in junior colleges or doing diploma courses.
  7. We will not award any sponsorship to the applicants having more than Rs.3,00,000/- as their annual family income.
  8. We will not award any sponsorship to those doing their second Masters degree or any other degree/diploma (like B Ed) after completing their Post graduation.
  9. Colleges should have a NAAC rating of 2.5 or above. Colleges established before the year 2000 will also be considered even if they do not have a NAAC rating. All other colleges will not be considered for sponsorship.
  10. We will not consider applicants from any college which has less than five applicants as well as from colleges where we do not have a volunteer.

All exceptions to above can be considered subject to stron recommendations from the concerned volunteer and subject to the discretion of the Trustees.
