School Intervention Program (SIP)

The School Intervention Program (SIP) is HTBF’s umbrella initiative designed to strengthen foundational learning and life skills for visually impaired students in government schools. SIP integrates two core interventions—STEP-Up and the STEM Mathematics Project—to create a continuum of learning from basic digital literacy to advanced STEM readiness.

Why SIP Matters

  • Limited access to assistive technology and digital tools.
  • Gaps in English communication and mobility training.
  • Inaccessible teaching methods for Math and Science.
  • Insufficient preparation for higher education and competitive careers.

SIP addresses these gaps through structured programs that combine academic support, skill development, and experiential learning, ensuring students are equipped for both college and future employment.

STEP-Up: Rationale and Impact

  • Digital literacy for academic and professional success.
  • English communication to improve confidence and employability.
  • Mobility training for independent travel and safety.
  • Reasoning and computational thinking to strengthen problem-solving skills.

By delivering 750+ hours of structured training, STEP-Up empowers students with practical skills and confidence, enabling smooth transitions to higher education and skill-based programs like EMET.

2024–25 Highlights
